Metheringham visit 28th June 2014 & 1st January 2016
XS186 / 10 / CAW / Jet Provest T4
Today I made a visit to RAF Metheringham with one of our grandsons James. The purpose for the visit was to take some pictures of Jet Provest T4 XS186 coded 10 , This aircraft has markings of the College of Air Warfare that it wore while based at RAF Manby in the late 1960’s.
To look at this nine year restoration you need to read the history of this aircraft at the link below.

I visit a lot of Aviation Museums and have not found a better Jet Provest restoration in private hands, This jet is able to taxy under it’s own power around it’s hard standing. I think the pictures show how good the work is.
This image shows the detail of the markings.
Nose on view showing the leading edge of the wings.
As for my Grandson James, He used the JP so he could play on his I-pad out of the sun.
If you are in the area at weekends, Call in and have a look at the best restored private Jet Provest T4 in the UK.
1st January 2016.
I paid a visit to check out the Dakota KG651/G-AMHJ, This Dakota like the Jet Provest will be restored to taxy condition. This was one of the Air Atlantique that was used for anti oil slick operations and is a welcome addition to the Airfield.
