After a visit to RAF Cranwell for the RAF Trainers Public Display Authorisation I took a trip on the way home to check out the Aviation Heritage Centre.I parked the car and made my way into the history of RAF Cranwell from it’s early establishment as a RNAS base.The museum tells the story with display boards ,exhibits including a Jet Provest flight simulator that will let you try to land at Cranwell,I managed to land on the grass but forgot to put down the cart!

Inside the Museum is a Vampire T11 Fuselage Pod XE946 and in the Court Yard XP556 B Jet Provest T4 is displayed in RAFC marks.

Well worth a trip round when passing on the A17.The Staff were very friendly and helpful and if you need leaflets for Airfields and Memorials,This is the place to call at.
